Prepare to Battle

 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

 Ephesians 6:11 KJV

When we have advanced knowledge of a difficult situation, we can be prepared. Rather than being blindsided by the challenges of marriage, we can be armed with the knowledge that we must prepare now to deal with future trials.

One way we prepare for battle is by putting on the whole armor of God. Number one in your toolbox of preparation must be the conscientious, intentional choice to make God and His word your priority. You cannot have a kingdom marriage without it.

Of equal importance is prayer. Pray for each other, pray with each other and determine that you will not let any outside forces distract or divide you. Prayer is the ultimate weapon we wield in this battle for our marriage.

Additionally, we must work to memorize God’s Word. I can’t think of anything greater that can fix my mind appropriately. When faced with conflict, discouragement, disappointment, or challenge, if my mind is prepared with Scripture, I can see the truth of the battle clearly.

 Be sure you are using all the tools at your disposal to fight for your marriage!

God, I thank You for the tools you have provided to face this battle for our marriage. Help me to be reminded to use them daily!
