It’s so easy to be anxious in the world we live. There is conflict, heartache, troubles, and illness, but God is present and consistent and cares for us despite it all. This is why Paul encourages the Philippians to present to God their troubles and requests in prayer and with thanksgiving. God cares. 

God’s peace is an incredible gift. Though troubles threaten to overtake us, we can have peace in our hearts, knowing God has it all under control. We have peace when we trust in God and His abilities, despite the mountains we may face. 

It’s not easy, though, which I think is why we are to be prayerful and thankful “in every situation.” It’s a habit we need to form through daily practice.
