Is your faith healthy or toxic?

Healthy faith will help you live your dreams, but toxic faith will destroy them. Healthy faith will help you feel great about yourself and your potential.

Do you remember that old song I Like Dreamin’ by Kenny Nolan? “I like dreamin' 'cause dreamin' can make you mine.” I believe every child is born with an internal desire to dream. Every child is born with a divine purpose and destiny. God has already planned an amazing purpose for each one of us: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)

Do you really believe God has a wonderful plan for your life, family, business, and community? I’ve discovered over the past 30 years of counseling that this belief is the foundation of a healthy faith. If you do believe this fact, you are on your way to dreaming about a better life and living it.

Have you lost your ability to dream like a little child? Healthy faith will give you the ability to dream again. The word “faith” means belief, and this is what I believe about you:

1. God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life.
2. God knows your strengths and weaknesses.
3. God gives wisdom when you seek it in His Word and by His Spirit.
4. You are forgiven and blessed.

I want to encourage you to build a dynamic faith-based on healthy beliefs about God, yourself, and others. Miracles and breakthroughs will happen because of your faith. Jesus told the woman whom He healed of a disease that had crippled her for 12 years, “‘Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.’” (Mark 5:34, NIV)

Your faith in our incredible, loving God will help you experience His power in a new way. Faith is not a fairy tale but a set of convictions that helps you dream again. This is God’s plan for you because you are a miracle.
