Resting in the Love of Jesus: A 5-Day Lent Devotional by Asheritah Ciuciuنموونە

JESUS LOVES HIS ENEMIES
“And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear. But Jesus answered, ‘No more of this!’ And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.” LUKE 22: 50–51
RECITE GOD’S GOODNESS
Lover of the Loveless, You healed this servant, not to barter for Your freedom but simply out of the overflow of Your love. Such goodness and kindness surpass anything humanly possible. I praise You, Jesus, for Your great love!
EXPRESS YOUR NEEDINESS
I know You want me to love my enemies, but this is oh so hard. Renew my mind as I meditate on Your love. Make me more like You, Jesus. I want to love even those who are mean to me, but I need Your Spirit to change my heart.
SEEK HIS STILLNESS
Meditate on the fact that while you were God’s enemy, Christ loved you enough to die for you. What does that say about His love? About how He is calling you to love your “enemy”?
TRUST HIS FAITHFULNESS
I surrender myself to Your Spirit, Jesus. Bear this heavenly fruit of love for my enemies within me. Open my eyes to opportunities to love those who have hurt me, and help me experience Your Spirit working love in me and through me for Your glory and sake alone.
