Fasting For An Open Heaven

Daniel fasted and prayed for 21 days for an answer from God. Finally, an angel appeared and made it clear that he had been sent to Daniel by God in response to his prayers. The angel said, “Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.” When we fast and pray, we can do so in confidence that God hears our prayers. God heard Daniel’s prayers from the first day! It just took a while for the angel to appear because of the opposition he was experiencing from satan in the supernatural realm.

Fasting and prayer cause heaven to be opened and angels to be released into personal and national circumstances. Have faith, believer! From the moment you began to fast and pray, heaven was opened up over your life, and angels were assigned and dispatched to your situation. If it seems like there is a delay in hearing from God, if the heavens seem like brass, if you are struggling and about to throw in the towel on your fast, don’t! While Daniel was fasting and praying, an angel was warring in the heavenly realm against satan himself in an attempt to make it to him. There was an unseen battle happening in the spirit that Daniel was completely unaware of!

So, as we conclude the final day of our study, I want to encourage you. If your fast is hard, don’t give up! We have no idea what is happening in the supernatural as we fast and pray. Keep going. As you do, heaven will open over your life, and God will accomplish His purposes through your fast.
