Generosity Of Love
It’s easy to be generous sometimes, to those we know and love, to those who align with our thinking and ideas. But that’s not what these verses remind us of. They tell us that when we love God we need to be generous to all in need.
I’ve put these two verses together because the second one reminds us that we are all made by God. And the first reminds us of the responsibility we have as God’s people. He created humanity; we are His people, all of us, all the time. We have a responsibility to be kind and generous and not to walk past those in need, those who are desperate, those who need help.
Sometimes we can be generous with money; sometimes it can be to get alongside them and meet their need; sometimes it is providing food. Who are these people? People like you and me in many ways. We take action because we know that we are all God’s people.
The reward is that we reflect our love for God to these people and they see what it means to be a follower of Jesus. The Lord is the maker of us all. As we follow Jesus, let us never forget that.

This study explores the topic of generosity, a word that can at times be counter-cultural but has the power to be transformational in this world where ‘self’ reigns supreme and where God’s love is needed more than ever.
