How to Survive the Storms of Lifeنموونە

Trust in Jesus' Guidance
“On that day, when evening had come, He [Jesus] said to them, ‘Let us go across to the other side.’ And leaving the crowd, they took Him with them in the boat, just as He was. And other boats were with Him.” (Mark 4:35-36)
Mark describes how Jesus and His disciples spent their day. Jesus was occupied all day teaching people about God's Kingdom. This was not unusual for Him to do. At the end of the day, He got tired and everyone was ready for some rest — a great time to step back and go to sleep!
But no, Jesus has other plans. He asks the disciples to come with Him across the Sea of Galilee. The Bible text simply writes how Jesus says, “Let’s go” and the disciples do as He asks. They follow His lead without discussion.
We, too, are called to ‘follow Jesus’. But how difficult we often find such faithful obedience to be! If Jesus leads our lives in a direction we did not expect and may not understand at all, do we trust His guidance and do what He asks of us? Do we accept without grumbling that His plans are apparently different from ours?
