Have you ever gotten advice from a peer and advice from a mentor that sounded totally different? Maybe the advice from your mentor left you shrugging your shoulders or led you to a harder decision, but you knew it was the right route. And maybe, the advice from your peer seemed like an easier way, but consequences waited around the corner.

If we’re honest with ourselves, sometimes we put our choices or decisions in the hands of those who aren’t wise enough to guide us. Not that every peer isn’t wise, it’s just that it’s important to pay attention to where we go for wisdom.

This verse reminds us that godly people can offer good counsel and help us see right from wrong. We should turn to those people for wisdom when we need it.
