Yesterday the angel appeared to Mary, and in this passage, he appears to Joseph. The man engaged to Mary, who was about to quietly separate due to her pregnancy, now receives his own encounter concerning the news of Jesus.

Joseph was an honorable, godly man who was obedient to God’s leading in his life. An example to us all, especially because our first inclination might now always line up with God's will. You and I are also called to a life of obedience. A life of total surrender.
