10 Pillars : Building a Life in Godنموونە

Honour your father and your mother so your life may be extended and blessed!
It is a commandment that is forgotten and put aside today! We live in a world with almost no respect for our elders. Yet the Lord is asking us to have the highest respect for our parents. We must understand that God wants a Father relationship with us; the perfect test is our relationship with our human parents.
We are not too big or too grown-up for our parents; we are still their children, regardless of age, wealth or social status. Also, if our parents do not believe in God, we must honour them!!
- How are you different from the many stories about abandoned parents and rebellious children?
- What is your vision or relationship with your parents?
- How much time do you spend with your parents per week, compared with the time you spend with strangers (see here non-parents)?
- How do we keep our children learning to uphold these values?
- If we do not respect our parents, how can we expect our children to respect us?
Let us repent from our sin of abandoning or neglecting our parents. Let's turn to the God of Love and ask him to fill our hearts with love and care for our parents. Let's return to our parents and give them all the care and love God expects of us.
Let's make sure this pillar is standing firm in our lives!
