Spouse Alignment

A Godly man recognizes that he is a steward of God's provisions and, if called, embraces the power of marriage.

God shows us in Ecclesiastes that two working together towards a goal can achieve marvelous results. However, in many circumstances, one spouse holds all the access to the family finances and does not include their partner. The reason could be embarrassment over the reality of their finances or to simply exercise power over their partners.

Regardless, if any of these behaviors exist, they should be squashed immediately. Being aligned with your spouse in the financial arena is one of the best things you can do for your marriage. Setting the budget and making decisions together shows your partner that you value them and their input. Being vulnerable and transparent in your concerns not only strengthens your communication but is an excellent way to protect your marriage from the attacks of Satan.

Question to Consider

1. If your wife needed to access all the family financial accounts, would she know how?
2. Do you know what your wife’s goals are with money? Does she know yours?
3. What actions will you commit to today to be the leader God intends you to be?
