Growing up, there was nothing quite as nerve-wracking as standing in a line and waiting to be chosen to play on a specific team at recess. Maybe you would try to stand a little taller, hoping to add a few inches of height to look a bit bigger than the kids next to you. Or maybe you would loudly mention how fast you could run or how high you could jump. Whatever it was, you wanted to do whatever you could to make sure that you were picked. To ensure you’d be a part of the team. As adults, we may not play the same recess games that we once did, but we all still want that feeling of being chosen. What a wonderful thing to know that, in Christ, we already are! We have all been chosen by God. He knows every person on earth and has called us all to join His family. There are no requirements that we need to meet, no skills that we need, and no things that we have to do to belong. All we need to do is answer the invitation.
