Sometimes the projects we start are bigger than we expect. Like when you get a study guide for a test at school and think, "I can handle it," but once you start going through the guide, you realize just how much material is being covered and have no clue how you're going to remember everything. In those moments, you might wish someone could save you and bring you all of the information you need.

While Jesus might not help you study for your history test, he does promise to rescue us. In today's reading, you'll explore the story about a time when Jesus did something incredible — he brought someone back to life. Using just the sound of his voice, Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead and showed everyone he had power over death.

Just because Jesus rescues us, we can't expect all of our problems to simply go away. When we're feeling overwhelmed by what's happening, we can look to Jesus to bring us hope in our suffering or worry. If Jesus holds power over death, he can handle a lot of our daily worries, too.

Not only does Jesus save us from our daily struggles, but he also rescues us from sin. He shows us a new way of living and invites us to grow in our faith and connection to God. Jesus offers to breathe new life into us with only his words, just like he did for Lazarus. When we let Jesus speak for himself, we hear Jesus is our Savior.
