The LIGHT of the Worldنموونە

T stands for safeTy
Okay, I know I am cheating with my acronym, but Jesus wants you to know that the dark is dangerous while the light offers safeTy. Think of waking up in a dark hotel room and stubbing your toe on an unseen dresser. Or the threats that lurk down a dark alley if you’re walking home alone at night. You can breathe easier and stay safer if you’re in the light.
It’s the same with Jesus. He claimed, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness” (John 8:12). You are never in danger of being alone, never in danger of being unloved, never in danger of not having God’s ear or being on God’s heart, never in danger of missing heaven, never in danger of ending up in hell, never in danger of having to pay off your own spiritual debt, and never in danger of seeing a disappointed look on the face of God. Never! Why? Because Jesus is the Light of the world.
Fear is rooted in the gloomy thought that our sin has put us in danger with God, which is why Jesus dissipates our fear with the bright promises of his love. Thank God that Jesus is the Light of the world, a world that includes you.
