Daily Bible Reading — December 2023, God’s Saving Word: Joyنموونە

December 12
Introduction
Isaiah 12:1–6: Today’s reading is in the form of a psalm of thanksgiving, praising God our savior and source of strength.
Today’s Key Verse: Isaiah 12:5
Sing to the LORD because of the great things he has done. Let the whole world hear the news.
Reflect
Today’s reading is usually connected with the vision of Isaiah 11:1–16 since it envisions a time of praise following the restoration of Israel and Judah and the reign of a righteous king. For what is God being praised? Verse 5 encourages singing to God because of the great things he has done. What great things has God done in your life? What will you “sing” to God about today?
Pray
Holy God, you are my savior, and I sing your praises, proclaiming the great things you have done. May the good news of your salvation be spread throughout the world. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Isaiah 54:1–17: The restoration of Jerusalem is promised.
