In the narrative of Joshua 1, we witness a profound meeting between God and Joshua. The context is significant, with Moses having passed away and God entrusting Joshua with the leadership to guide His people into the promised land—a land of abundance, or "MORE" than enough. This grand adventure is not just for Joshua but for all of God's people.

Amidst the pivotal instructions given by God, one message stands out, emphasized four times in just a few verses. It is a key principle essential for the people to take possession of the promised land. God repeatedly urges Joshua to "be strong and courageous."

This directive holds timeless significance, remaining as crucial today as it was then. In the face of God's promises and despite opposition, the call remains to "be strong and courageous.”

But what does it mean? How do we embody this principle? The first step is a deep understanding of His Word. His Word is His will, and His will is His Word. Too often, in our quest for answers, we search outside His Word instead of anchoring ourselves in its truth.

Being strong and courageous doesn't imply self-reliance or confidence in our abilities. Instead, it signifies strength derived from His power, recognizing that the victory has already been secured. As children of God, our battle is not for victory but rather, for the victory accomplished through the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Reflection: Each day presents a choice—to retreat or to stand firm. Whatever you are standing and believing for, persevere, remain steadfast, and stand strong as a champion. Remind yourself of His promises and anchor your life in alignment with His plan and purpose.
