Notice and Be Glad!

This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. PSALM 118:24 ESV

How does creativity show up in your life? Maybe you are naturally creative, an artist or craftsman by trade. Perhaps you have a hobby you dabble in—watercolor, photography, interior design. Maybe you are a wordsmith or a creator of community, or maybe you’ve even helped create new life. In some way, shape, or form, we all participate in creation. We reflect our Creator in the ways that we bring beauty and newness into the world. When you approach the day this way—with eyes open to experience the creativity and splendor of the world—the day unfolds in an altogether new way. The colors shine brighter, the picture in front of you grows clearer. It really does become easier to “rejoice and be glad in it.” Today remember the incredible creativity of God. Reflect that creativity by continuing to bring beauty into the world as a means of rejoicing.

God, You are a truly creative Father. Each creature, each flower, each child is a reflection of Your intentional and specific design. Thank You for creating me, Lord. Thank You for creating the place I call home, the world I interact with, and the people I love. Today help me to truly rejoice at the goodness in my life. Give me eyes to see the goodness all around me and keep me from a spirit of ungratefulness. Help my rejoicing encourage others to rejoice. Help my noticing cause others to notice and enjoy Your creation. Thank You for Your good handiwork. Amen.
