God Declares That I Am Precious to Him One of Satan's endless deceptions is to get us to think of God in human terms, i.e., that he thinks and acts basically just like us. By those measures God is forgetful, impulsive, evasive, vengeful, and has a temper that can tear the branches off trees. The Bible describes a different God, one who is patient, steady in love and purpose, and who will never reject or forget the one he has called his child. "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands" (Isaiah 49:15,16). This is a God who thinks you're precious and valuable to him, who patiently forgives your sins of the past, and who is far more interested in your future. This is a God who continues to see value in you. This is a God who always takes you back, who will never reject you even if you've given him reason to do so. If your name can actually be found on the palms of his heavenly hands, you must be precious indeed.
