God and Me: Devotions From Time of Graceنموونە

God and My Pain
Have you ever gone through a long stretch of physical pain? Does your body hurt right now? If you do any reading in the Bible, you will notice that you have a lot of company. The men and women that you meet on Scripture's pages share the full measure of the brokenness of human life with you and people of all ages.
You will meet people wounded by swords and arrows; people with leprosy and chronic hemorrhaging; people with withered limbs and paralysis, fevers and epilepsy, and broken bones. It's bad enough to suffer pain. Worse is when it's chronic, when it just won't stop. Sometimes God provides quick and miraculous healing.
And sometimes he doesn't. Are you waiting for relief right now? "I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning" (Psalm 130:5,6).
Here is your hope: Jesus sees your pain. Jesus feels your pain with you, because he was and is human just like you. He sets limits to your suffering. He has already planned your rescue. It won't last a minute longer than he has decreed. And he always makes it work for you and for the benefit of his kingdom and for his greater glory. Always.
