Want an easy-to-remember way to read and study the Bible? No matter which passage of Scripture you're reading, ask yourself these three questions: "What?" "So What?" "Now What?" We'll show you how!
WHAT? What is this passage about?
What does this passage say should be our motivation for treating our enemies (or others we disagree with) well?
SO WHAT? Why does it matter?
- Why do you think Jesus shared these words?
- How does Jesus' message of treating those you don't get along with compare to what's seen as normal at your school or community?
NOW WHAT? What should I do about it?
- Have you ever had someone show love or compassion to you when you didn't expect them to? What was that like?
- Why does God tell us to love people who seem to be against us? How is this difficult for you?
- Who can you show love or generosity toward without expecting repayment or reciprocation?
