Over the past few days, we have looked at different reasons why people can end up feeling distant from God and start losing their trust in Him. Perhaps you are asking; How do I practically restore my trust and faith in the Lord?

It is really profoundly easy to do, but it will require some diligence and discipline. What we give our minds to will have pre-eminence and control over our thought life. When we spend a lot of time on social media, that will fill our minds. When we spend a lot of time worrying, that will fill our minds. When we spend a lot of time watching scary or ungodly movies, those things will fill our minds. So, in order for us to put our trust in God, we have to fill our minds with Scriptures that remind us of God's Character and Intentions towards us. There is no other way to balance the scale of trust back into its proper place, but by giving time to the things of the Lord.

You can start by scheduling time in the Word like you have done with this Reading Plan. You can choose a Bible Reading Plan where you systematically read through a specific focus or subject e.g. Healing, Being Filled With the Holy Spirit, etc. Secondly, you can start by speaking to God in prayer the moment you open your eyes in the morning. Just for those first few minutes before doing anything else, even with your eyes still closed, speak to the Lord and ask Him to be part of your day.
