Gutenberg Gates
The entrance to Museum of the Bible is flanked by two 40-foot bronze panels. These are recreations of the printing beds used by Gutenberg to the Latin Vulgate, the first major book ever printed. The panels feature the words of Genesis 1, starting with “In principio creavit Deus caelum et terram,” or “In the beginning, God created heaven, and earth.”
