If you’ve followed Christ for any amount of time, you know that you have a responsibility to reach people and make disciples. But in order to do that effectively, we need to address a firm reality. 

In your life, there will be people you do not reach. There will be people that you miss an opportunity with. There will be people in different countries or parts of the world that you can’t go to. There will be people who just aren’t ready to receive the Gospel message yet.

The truth is that your ability to reach others is limited by your location, resources, and time. What do you do with that reality? Focus on the people that you can impact.

The greater reality is that God has given you everything you need to reach the people He’s given you to impact—that includes your spouse, children, friends, and people in your ministry. Whenever you feel overwhelmed and unsure of how to balance every pressing need and person in your life, start with this foundation: Your responsibility is not to change people. Only God can do that. Your responsibility is to be present and do as God is showing you to do.
