Hope for the future

As Daniel’s life nears its end, he receives a vision of the end times, sealed until the appointed time. This prophecy, speaking of God’s ultimate victory over earthly powers, remains relevant today as we await Christ’s return.

Daniel’s declaration to King Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 2:28) that ‘there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets’, echoes through the ages, with Daniel faithfully recording revelations for those preceding Christ’s coming. In Daniel 12:4, this time is described as when ‘many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase’. Today, we witness rapid travel and unprecedented accumulation of new knowledge, reflecting the fulfilment of Daniel’s prophecy. Despite chaos and uncertainty, Daniel’s vision offers hope, reminding us that our future is anchored in God’s eternal kingdom.

As we navigate life’s complexities, let us hold fast to the hope set before us. Let us eagerly anticipate the fulfilment of God’s promises, knowing that He who began a good work in us will bring it to completion (see Philippians 1:6). Our hope remains secure in the unchanging faithfulness of our heavenly Father. Amen.
