Focus

Sit with your breath today. Breathe in and count to four and then exhale. With each exhale repeat the phrase “I will be with you.” Allow this phrase to settle with your breathing for a few minutes and simply focus on those words in rhythm with your breath.

Apply

We belong to God and to God’s family, the Church. To belong to God means to be covered in God’s love and to know that you do not walk alone. Where in your life have you forgotten or lost sight of belonging to God and God’s Church?

Respond

God, I belong with you and your Church. In belonging to you, I am redeemed and I do not walk alone. Remind me of your presence in the moments when loneliness feels like it overshadows my belonging. In the moments when fear consumes me and fire surrounds me, break through with your redeeming love and bring me back to you.
