Achieving Victory With Jesusنموونە

Fixing your eyes on Jesus and on His promises for you
“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith.” (Hebrews 12:1-2)
The life of a Christian is often described as a race or a battle. It requires perseverance. Sometimes, if we feel overwhelmed by sin or by human and spiritual opposition, we may “grow weary and lose heart.” This is understandable, but it is also dangerous. If we want to achieve victory, we have to keep running and fighting!
In the letter to the Hebrews, this issue is addressed extensively. Many encouraging examples are described of believers who endured much suffering but kept the faith. They “finished the race” and received the crown of righteousness that was laid up for them.
The ultimate example of perseverance despite intense suffering and opposition, is Jesus Christ. We can take courage by fixing our eyes on Him and following His example. How did Jesus endure in His darkest moments? He focused on “the joy set before Him.” (Hebrews 12:2) So, let us do the same! In the book of Revelation, Jesus Himself draws our attention to the blessings He has in store for believers who endure to the end. Over the coming days, we’ll read these promises and find the courage to “run with endurance the race that is set before us.”
Do you experience your life as a battle or race? If so, what makes life hard for you? What brings you joy?
