If you think about it, the story of Jesus coming to and then dying on a cross for our sins is a wild one!
We miss its significance when we let familiarity dull its shock factor. This can easily happen when we've been believers for some time. It's vital to not let the importance of the cross be lost on us.
What led God to the scandal and pain of the cross? Why would he sacrifice Himself for us?
Passion. Because of His passion for us. Passion is a powerful motivator, an internal drive for our actions. To give up your life for someone shows an immense love for them. God is passionate about you!
How often do we stop to remember this? And do we truly believe it? Do we truly believe that God does not just have a love for people in general – but each of us individually – right where we are now?
God chose to send Jesus for you because He loves you with incredible passion. How would your world change if you lived from this revelation?
