Day 18: Create in Me a Clean Heart

Devotion:
Sometimes we carry things in our hearts that weigh us down—bitterness, envy, fear, or even guilt. These things can build up over time, leaving us feeling heavy, distant, or stuck. But the good news is, we don’t have to carry them forever. David’s prayer for a clean heart reminds us that we can come to God just as we are, asking Him to wipe the slate clean and renew our spirits.

God doesn’t want you to walk around burdened by what doesn’t belong in your heart. He’s ready to take it all—the hurt, the anger, the doubts—and replace it with His love, peace, and strength. Coming to Him honestly, with open hands and an open heart, is the first step toward that renewal.

Today, take some time to reflect on what’s been weighing you down. Be honest with God about it—He already knows, and He’s ready to help you release it. Let Him clean your heart and fill it with His Spirit, so you can move forward lighter, freer, and more connected to Him. Renewal starts with surrender, and God is always ready to meet you there

Prayer:
God, I need You to clean my heart. Take anything in me that doesn’t honor You, and fill me with Your Spirit. Amen.

Journal Prompt:
What’s something in your heart that you need God to cleanse or renew today?

Practical Application:
Write a prayer of confession, asking God to create a clean heart in you, and tear it up as a symbol of release.
