🌟 Day 1: Recognizing King Stomach's Rule

"Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days, He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry." —Luke 4:1–2

Hello Friend,

Have you ever noticed how much power your stomach has over your life?

Well, to be very honest, my stomach has ruled over my life. I’ve gone through a time when I loved food more than anything else. You know, I’m from Lahore, Pakistan—a city famous for its incredible variety of food. We literally wake up craving a delicious breakfast, and by the afternoon, we’re already thinking about what to eat next. In the evening? It’s all about biryani, barbecue, and so many other amazing Pakistani dishes.

I remember waking up one morning feeling so determined: 'This is it! I’m going all in!' But by lunchtime, my head hurt, my energy dipped, and by dinner… well, I was already convincing myself that maybe God didn’t want me to fast. 😅

Sound familiar, Friend?

That was the day I realized “King Stomach” had been ruling me for far too long. This invisible dictator inside me seemed to have the final say over my mood, my decisions, even my focus in prayer. But that’s exactly why fasting is so powerful.

Even Jesus, filled with the Holy Spirit, was led into the wilderness to fast. He felt hunger. He faced temptation. And yet, He showed us that there is a greater strength available when we allow the Spirit to lead us instead of our cravings.

Friend, perhaps today is the perfect moment to pause and ask yourself:

👉 Who’s ruling my life—my flesh or my spirit?
👉 Am I living led by cravings…or by Christ?

The truth is, if we want to experience the deeper things of God, if we want breakthrough, clarity, and fresh power in our lives, we must be willing to dethrone “King Stomach.” Fasting is an invitation to do just that—to take the crown off our appetites and lay it at the feet of Jesus.

And I promise you this…when you make that decision, God meets you with grace, strength, and miracles you never imagined.

💭 Friend, what area of your life has “King Stomach” (or any other craving) been controlling? How might God be inviting you to surrender that today?

Take a moment to invite the Holy Spirit to reveal anything you’ve been putting before Him. He is so ready to help you live free.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, I admit that I’ve often let my cravings control me. I’ve allowed my appetite to take the lead instead of Your Spirit. Today, I choose to surrender. Dethrone the “king” of my stomach, my desires, and my distractions. I want You to rule my heart completely. Give me strength to walk with You in fasting, prayer, and victory. I want more of You. Amen.

🙏 Friend, I’m believing with you that as you take this step, God is going to do something amazing. This is just the beginning! Keep going—you’re not alone and remember you are a miracle.
