Jesus, the Second Adam – A New Beginning
Scripture Reading: Luke 3:38; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22
Discussion Points:
- Luke’s genealogy traces Jesus back to Adam, showing His connection to all humanity.
- Jesus as the “Second Adam” who brings life where the first Adam brought death.
- The resurrection as the beginning of a new creation.
Luke’s genealogy traces Jesus all the way back to Adam, emphasizing His connection to all humanity. From the very beginning, God’s plan was in motion—each name listed in Scripture was part of the unfolding promise that would ultimately lead to Jesus. It’s a powerful reminder that God’s faithfulness spans generations and that His promises never fail.
Through Adam, sin and death entered the world, but through Jesus—the “Second Adam”—life and redemption are made available to all. Where the first Adam brought separation, Jesus restores relationship. His resurrection marks the beginning of a new creation, a turning point where the curse of sin is broken, and eternal life is offered to us.
Just as Jesus fulfilled the promises spoken long before His time on earth, we, too, are part of a greater story. God’s faithfulness is still at work, and He invites us to carry His promises forward. Our lives are not just about the present moment—they are part of something much bigger. Through Christ, we are brought into the family of God, called to reflect His character, and entrusted with the hope of His redemption.
Reflection: How does Jesus' resurrection reverse the curse of sin and offer us a new life?
