Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!

S: Scripture

If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.

O: Observation

Read Deuteronomy 7:6–9 again.

  • What stands out to you?
  • What does the passage tell us is the source of God's faithfulness?
  • What promise is given?

A: Application

  • What's one of God's promises you know is true?
  • Is there a situation you want to see God's faithfulness in? If so, what is it?
  • What do you think could change how you view yourself if you believed God chose you for a purpose?

P: Prayer

Spend some time in prayer, worshiping God's faithfulness. Ask for humility to accept that God's love is not the result of anything you have done, and feel the freedom that you're loved no matter what. Then say thank you for God's faithfulness and love that remain constant day after day.

Have you ever stood in awe of a natural wonder—a pristine glacier, a golden sunset, or vast ocean—and been amazed by its beauty? These remind us of the incredible God who created everything. So, what would it look like to live every day in awe of our Creator? For the next 28 days, we’ll explore what it means to worship—not just with songs or prayers, but with the way we live.
