Peter Ends With Hope
As Peter wrapped up his message that day, he gave the crowd some serious perspective:
Jesus’ suffering? It was part of God’s plan all along—spoken by the prophets, carried out by leaders, and now fulfilled.
But this wasn’t just a history lesson. Peter had good news: If they repented and turned back to God, their sins would be wiped away, and a time of refreshment would come. God wasn’t just offering forgiveness, but restoration and renewal.
These promises were for anyone willing to respond to God’s invitation.
📖 Observe
Read Acts 3:17–26
Start with this question:
👉 What stood out to you from this passage, and why?
In your journal, write down:
- What Peter says about repentance and what it leads to
- What Peter says about who Jesus is
Then read:
📌 Acts 2:22–36
Compare both messages Peter gave:
- What themes and ideas come up in both?
- When Peter has the opportunity to preach to a crowd, what does he choose to emphasize?
💭 Interpret
Let’s think deeper:
- How does Peter use the Old Testament to explain what happened to Jesus?
- What does this passage teach you about God’s purpose in Jesus’ suffering and resurrection?
🌱 Apply
Sometimes life feels confusing and out of control. But Peter reminds us: God is always working toward restoration.
Repentance isn’t about shame—it’s about turning back so God can bring healing, freedom, and refreshment.
No matter how far you feel, God’s arms are open.
✍️ Journal Prompt: What would it look like for you to “turn back to God” today? Is there a place in your life where you need refreshment or restoration from him?
