Grief Survivor: 30 Steps Toward Hope and Healing نموونە

A REAL LIFE STORY from the AUTHOR: TEARS IN MY SPINACH OMELET
Mother's Day, fifteen years after losing my beloved Mom, Beazy, I was traveling to spend Mother's Day weekend with our daughter, Amy, in Colorado. I stopped in the airport cafe for breakfast and crossed paths with the kindest server, Lamar.
When I asked my friendly seventeen-year-old server about his Mother's Day, his face lit up as he described his thoughtful, beautiful, magnificent Mom- in his words, "the best mom ever!" And what a wonderful son she has!
In a few moments he arrived with my spinach omelet, and everything was wonderful... until Lamar decided to flip the script, and ask about My Mom.
Within seconds, gigantic tears were streaming down my face, right into the spinach omelet as I responded, "my mom lives in Heaven. She's been there for a while." Lamar felt terrible for making me cry. He hugged me, patted my back and told me, "it's OK to cry." Lamar was so right.
All that to say- it really is OK to cry. And it's also OK to laugh, and it's also OK to always miss the people we love.
Here's some good news- It's not going to always be this way. Brighter days are coming; and the Lord really is able to rescue us when our spirits are crushed.
Reflect: Write about what Revelation 21:4 means to you: "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
Thanks for sticking with us through the Grief Survivor 30 Day Plan.
May you find comfort in your memories, great joy in God's presence, and the peace that passes all understanding. Amen.

You're invited to grab a journal, reflect or write through the daily prompts, and allow the Lord to begin to heal your heart.
