Day 13 – A Shepherd

Father God is the greatest Shepherd. This characteristic trait isn’t one that you may use often but yet it’s so vital to how you view Him in your life. Let’s look at the life of a shepherd. The shepherd leads and guides his sheep to a green, flourishing pasture so the sheep can eat, drink and be nourished. He ensures there are no ditches or hills they can fall off or into.

While there, the shepherd watches over the flock so none strays away. Most of all, he watches to protect them from wild animals and thieves. The shepherd also cares for the sheep when one is sick or injured and if ever one strays away (because we know how sheep can be), he stops everything to search for the missing one. The shepherd also grooms the sheep.

Pause here and read the above paragraph again but this time, see your life as His sheep (Psalm 100:3) and how each description fits areas in your life where God is truly your Shepherd. When you’re done, praise and thank Him before reading on because you will see that truly Psalm 23 is your anthem and God hasn’t failed you.
