From Creation to Calling

ڕۆژی20 لە 30

You don’t have to look far to find someone eager to show you how to cut corners or get ahead. Advice like: “Everyone else is doing it,” “No one cares,” “We get paid so little this is just our reward,” or “If you want to succeed, you have to look after number one” is common in our world.

But is this thinking worth the cost? You slip some left-over product into your bag, and for the next two weeks your heart pounds whenever your supervisor walks by. You casually spread gossip with co-workers, only to feel the weight of broken trust later. Sure, shortcuts might gain you a promotion or a little extra money, but no one talks about the guilt, the chaos, or the fear of always looking over your shoulder—waiting for someone to treat you the way you’ve treated others.

The Bible offers God’s wisdom on how to live His way. If you show love, it’s because you are connected to the God who is love. If you care about the outcast or grieve over injustice, it’s because His mercy flows through you. When you follow Jesus and seek wisdom, your life begins to take on the shape of His—your words, your actions, your character reflecting His love and bringing Him glory in every circumstance and relationship.

That’s why the call isn’t to chase shortcuts, but to seek wisdom; the kind that comes from God alone. His wisdom guards your heart, directs your steps, and teaches you how to live a life that brings glory to Him.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What is an example of earthly wisdom you’ve heard? What wisdom does God have about the same topic?
  2. Take a moment to respond to God’s invitation to abide in Him. What is a tangible way you can incorporate this connection to God into your daily life?
