Being Still as You Waitنموونە

After Standing
Month three—There was a glimpse of light: he was weaned off the ventilator and breathed on his own; his lungs had healed and developed. Hallelujah! His lungs were functioning as God made them to. The brain bleeds had almost completely disappeared. Hallelujah! His brain had been repaired. He was still gaining weight. Another Hallelujah!
Both sets of grandparents were able to hold him for the first time. Another BIG Hallelujah! God was working miracles all around us. My husband and I sat near his open bassinet and kept singing songs of victory, healing, and God’s plan for his life to him as we held his tiny hand. GOD, in all His glory, had turned a horrible situation planned by the devil into a total miracle story of redemption, healing, and restoration. He had turned the bad into something good and beautiful. He had spared my grandson’s life.
That is the kind of thing our God is capable of—and more. You just have to stand in faith, continue to stand while staying focused on Him, and He will take care of you and all that matters to you. One hundred three days later, the little guy went home—never had any other issues with his lungs, brain, kidneys, or any other issue. He grew stronger by the day and learned quickly that he was a real walking miracle, and began to know and build a relationship with the One who saved his life. And every single expectation and dream I had about being a first‑time grandma was thrown out because it was even greater than I could have ever imagined.
Today, he is 14 years old, getting ready for high school, is a great brother to three siblings, loves working out, and is a sweet and always joyful young man—and, most importantly, has a relationship with his Maker and Savior, the one and only almighty God. He serves in church in the children’s ministry and one day will speak of his story. I am so proud of who he is and that we get to do life with him.
God has a way of never letting you go. He will never disappoint you. Give God all you have, and let Him work on your behalf, and see the impossible happen. All God needs is your heart—full of sorrows, brokenness, wants, and dreams—and He will show up big for you, too. He will never fail you. Look up to the heavens today in your waiting season and bring it all to Him in song, prayer, and surrender, and stand firm—be unshakable, unwavering, stubbornly planted in His promises—and in time watch what God will do. God always makes a way, but it's all in his timing, and he works in ways we could never even think of.
Hebrews 13:5:
“God has said, ‘I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.’”
Deuteronomy 31:8:
“The Lord will be with you; He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
Luke 1:37:
“For no word from God will ever fail.”
Philippians 4:13:
“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
Romans 8:28:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
Proverbs 3:5–6:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to Him,
"And he will make your paths straight.”
1 Peter 5:7:
“Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”
Prayer
I pray that all your heart’s desires are yours in Jesus’ name. May God Almighty empower you with supernatural strength and encouragement as you wait on your miracle to come into existence. If you have God in your heart, you can do what you can’t even imagine with Him. Never give up. Never stop praying, singing, and speaking God’s promises, and thank Him at every instant.
