The Pursuit - 12 Weeks

ڕۆژی30 لە 84

John’s Gospel opens with one of the most powerful introductions in history: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” That “Word” is Jesus. He’s eternal, present with the Father, and fully God Himself. Everything was created through Him.

But then comes the shocker: “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.” God didn’t stay distant. He entered the story. He became human. The Creator stepped into creation, not as a warrior king but as a baby in a manger.

Why does this matter? Because it means God knows. He knows what it’s like to be tired, hungry, tempted, betrayed. He knows grief and joy, friendship and loss. He didn’t just shout love from heaven—He showed it by coming near.

John says we’ve seen His glory, “full of grace and truth.” That’s the perfect combination. Truth without grace is harsh; grace without truth is hollow. But in Jesus, we get both. He tells us the truth about our sin, but He also pours out grace to forgive it.

Reflection:

How does it impact you to know that God didn’t just send a message, but became the message?
