Day Four

There was a ruler named Herod who loved himself so much that the people he ruled over knew exactly what to say to him. One time when he spoke, the people said, “This is the voice of a god, not a man!” Immediately, as Herod received those false words as his own twisted version of truth, he was eaten by worms and died because he did not give God the glory (see Acts 12:20-24). My point here is that the devil will often try to put the focus back on you because he knows if you’re focusing on yourself, then you won’t be focusing on God—the One who will actually deliver you from self-hatred.
