Don’t we all love days that are calm and peaceful? Sadly we don’t experience these kinds of days often enough. Christmas can be a really crazy and stressful time for many and yet it is a time when peace should reign in our lives since we are celebrating the birth of the Prince of Peace. With the birth of Christ the great rescue plan was put into motion, but it wasn’t only our sins that we were going to be rescued from but, this sweet baby was also going to save us from the chaos and turmoil found within our own hearts. The gift Jesus gives to us is peace. He bought it with his blood and therefore is a most precious gift. It is available to us all year long but especially during this holiday time. We have the ability to be calm in the mists of busy days, we have the power to find joy in the midst of hard circumstances and we can have the strength to feel peaceful when our lives are filled with to-do lists, difficult family dynamics or joyful celebrations.
