Unworthy Vessels Serve

When God calls, he uses what is available. The stone jars were for cleansing, not for drinking. Strict Jewish hygiene practices were in place, so the moment any drinking water touched the stone jars, these vessels tainted the water, making it no longer suitable for drinking. It is highly probably that the water had changed to wine at this point, if not surely the servants, steeped in Jewish tradition would have objected to serving tainted water. Something truly miraculous had happened as no objections were raised and Jesus’ instructions were carried out. Jesus used what was available and he still works through any vessel/person that surrenders all to His will, no matter how unworthy we may be.
