HONOR

The title for our first devotional for today is a word that is much required to Worship.

We worship a living God, and in finding His will in our lives, we should honor His word.

We have sometimes received answers to our prayers, a yes or no or wait.
In a day, we can worship God multiple times in our daily tasks, in our routines, that we sometimes ignore or take for granted. If we keep God in mind in things we do, we react better to situations.

Being kind, considerate, patient to an officemate is an act of worship.

Being courteous is an act of worship.

A word of encouragement to a friend is an act of worship.

We honor God when we do all this to portray the Spirit of God within us, to testify for His love and mercy.

Deuteronomy 5:16 “Honor your father and mother, as the Lord your God commanded you. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you."

It is a verse that has a promise, a commandment that we should live out whether we are in our teens, our 30’s, 40’s, 50’s. Our parents are to be honored with no apprehensions and conditions.

Do we really honor His answer to our prayer? In doing so, this is at its very purpose, an act of worship.
