Philippians - Choosing Joyنموونە

Read: Philippians 4:6-7
SOAP: Philippians 4:6-7
When I was a little girl, I remember learning to turn my worries into prayers and leaving them at the feet of Jesus. That lesson has stayed with me my whole life, and I regularly go back to that practice. Our world and the craziness of the times in which we live can cause anyone to have anxiety, but that’s where our faith, trust, and prayers come into play. Instead of allowing the worries of this world to drain us of our energy, we hand them over to God. We give Him our concerns and our worries through our prayers, and we trust Him to work in ways that only He can. We are not God, but He is, and He can do more than we could ever imagine. So with thankful hearts for what He has already done, we hand over our worries and give Him opportunities to work in our lives for His glory.

Joy is the theme in the book of Philippians, which is pretty amazing considering this letter was written by Paul while he was in prison. How is it possible to have joy in the midst of overwhelming sorrow and suffering? In the end, Paul teaches us that Jesus is the Author and only source of true joy.
