Selfless Giving
Giving is one of Christ’s greatest commands. Many of us expect to receive something in return when we give, but is it really “giving” if our intentions are selfish? What is at the heart of our giving? I like to think back to the days when volunteering to babysit a family’s kid(s) was the “cool” thing to do, and I didn’t get paid for it. It was exciting knowing I had a responsibility to watch them while their parents went out for the evening. Similarly, we should approach giving with the same mindset. We have an opportunity to give what we have, and it’s exciting to see how God will use that gift! Big or small, it’s the heart behind your giving that matters. Today, use the opportunity you have to give. Giving of your time, resources, or encouragement is a great way to grow in your faith and service to God.
