“Passion Week” (or Holy Week), the week between Palm Sunday and Easter, reflects upon the passion displayed by Jesus as He endured the excruciating pain of the cross. Through this 7 day plan of select passages taken from His final week, we posture our hearts to praise Him for all He has done, marvel at His gift of salvation, and remember how much He loves and cares for His children.

Resurrection is more than an event we celebrate during Easter; it’s a person we get to walk with every day. As you step into Holy Week, sit in the emotions of those who lived through it and allow their stories to fuel your faith. Learn how to pray through pain and process disappointment in the presence of the One who can reveal hope in the middle of it all.

Experience the profound Easter tradition of retracing Jesus' journey from the Last Supper to his resurrection through the Stations of the Cross. Though the number of stations may vary, the purpose remains constant: preparing hearts for the Easter celebration. Reflecting on Jesus' final moments offers insights into his priorities, guiding us to take up our own crosses and follow his example.

Join us as we seek to engage in Holy Week in a more meaningful way. These devotionals will have verses associated with what Christ did each day leading up to the crucifixion. As well as ways that you can personally reflect and act on what you have read.

The Lent Project is an initiative of Biola University's Center for Christianity, Culture and the Arts. Each daily devotion includes a portion of Scripture, a devotional, a prayer, a work of visual art or a video, a piece of music, and a poem plus brief commentaries on the artworks and artists. The Seven Last Words of Christ refers to the seven short phrases uttered by Jesus on the cross, as gathered from the four Christian gospels. This devotional project connects word, image, voice and song into daily meditations on these words.
