Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent—a time for reflection, repentance, and renewal when Christians are invited to prepare themselves for the celebration of the Lord’s resurrection. Throughout the forty weekdays and six Sundays in Lent, pray and reflect on God’s renewing power.

This plan is designed to put us into Jesus’ journey to the cross. Each day there is a painting by Sieger Köder, depicting a specific moment that Jesus experienced, along with the verse for it. As you read the Scriptures, and examine that artist’s creativity, allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you. “Passion Week” (or Holy Week), the week between Palm Sunday and Easter, reflects upon the passion displayed by Jesus as He endured the excruciating pain of the cross.
