Beautifully Surrendered: God's Heart for His Daughters
14 Days
We believe once we become Christians, our lives will suddenly be easy. God did not promise us a life free from pain or for any women we read about in the Bible, like Mary, Hannah, and Esther. Each had to walk through pain and live her life by faith rather than by sight. Each had to choose to trust God when she didn’t understand.

Women of Welcome: Christ-Like Welcome

The welcome of Christ was astonishing to the culture around him. He gave voice to the speechless, frustrated the powerful, and humbled the wise. As Christians, our welcome should be like his– wonderfully surprising, deeply challenging, and firmly rooted in love. This five-week study explores the complicated and beautiful welcome of Jesus toward his most beloved creation, human beings. Jump in with us, individually or with a small group, and let’s transform how we show welcome.
What Do We Know For Sure About Jesus?
25 Days
My favorite way to focus on the “red stuff” in the New Testament—the words of Jesus—is to ask “the Oprah question.” Near the back of every O Magazine, and near the end of the popular talk show she once hosted, Oprah asks her celebrity guests this brilliant question: “What’s one thing you know for sure?” As a lifelong journalist, I’ve interviewed hundreds of people over the years, and I think the Oprah Question is the best single interview question I’ve ever heard. So I co-opted her question, morphing it into this: “Based on this Scripture passage alone, what’s one thing I know for sure about Jesus?” As a random exercise in asking the Oprah Question, let’s read through one chapter from Matthew’s Gospel that’s loaded with red stuff—chapter 15—quickly determining what we know for sure about Jesus as we scan through the things he said and did. We’ll sometimes read the same passage but answer the question differently. Christ as King: A Study in Matthew
28 Days
Matthew’s Gospel opens the New Testament by brilliantly introducing the culmination of the entire Old Testament story. After thousands of years and dozens of generations, Jesus had come “to save his people from their sins” (Mathew 1:21). Matthew focuses on Jesus as King of Kings, who had come to reign on the throne of David forever.
