This devotional was created by the Shofar Stellenbosch team to help the students and families to remain in the Word of God during the holiday season. This 7-day devotional, "Who is Jesus?" focuses on the very question of who Jesus is and help us get to know Him through Scripture even better.

Does God really hear your prayers? You’d like to believe it, but sometimes it’s difficult not to wonder if he’s really listening. Sometimes we’re sure he’s not. This 7 day devotional will guide you through the assurance the Bible gives that God does hear our prayers.

As we humbly approach each season of Easter / Resurrection remembrance and celebration, it should lead us to contemplate anew all that God The Father accomplished through Jesus His Son so we might have salvation and life in and through Him. The aim of this 7-Day devotional is to help lead us in a time of meaningful contemplation as we study the seven significant sayings of Jesus on The Cross.

As Savior, Jesus walked among our mess and pain. He is also King of all—holy, mighty, and just. For the next seven days, we will be reading through portions of the Gospels, reflecting on what we can learn about following Jesus as we study and honor His death and resurrection.

This plan is designed to provide a special time alone with the Lord during Holy Week. Each day you will be prompted to pause, ponder, and pray through a passage in the Gospel of Matthew. Your heart will be encouraged, your faith strengthened, and your prayer life enriched as you prepare for Easter. May it impact your walk with the Lord for years to come.

One of the things that stays constant in all seasons of life is knowing or wanting to know that we’re not alone in our life experiences. There’s someone else going through something similar or some version of it, so you can take courage. You may even be the somebody a hurting person needs.

Darkness. Are you afraid of the dark? Darkness is all around us, yet God calls us to His Light. Experience the darkest day in history when Jesus Christ was crucified and God’s glorious light when He rose from the dead. Shine His light with the truth of the gospel.

I LOVE MY CHURCH. People talk about what they love. They love their spouse, love their children. Or they love their job, sports team or pet, but how many people say they love their church? My prayer is that as you follow this plan, you may re-discover your love of the church and its purpose. Helping our churches today to be authentic, mirroring the original church. That is Simply Church.
