Anxiety is real, it is hard, it tries to physically and emotionally bind us. Anxiety is real my friends, and it can taint our perspective and instill so much fear of the unknown. Over the next couple of days, we will be looking through different stories in the Bible and learning from those who struggled and also taught on anxiety. There is hope in the midst of the trial!

Discipleship works against fear. As we obey God’s commands, we entrust ourselves to him. Like the students attending the schools founded by D. L. Moody in Northfield, MA, God’s people “are encouraged to test the meaning and value of the Bible’s teachings experimentally, by acting upon them, and living them out.” As we “test experimentally” the word of God, we will find that we will have fewer and fewer reasons to be afraid. He’s completely faithful and committed to seeing through the promises he’s made you, so ground yourself in his unchanging love. May God’s character become your source, refuge and unshakable foundation.
