It focuses on a female friendship between the young new convert Ruth and the older Naomi, who struggled with bitterness. And the love story between Ruth and Boaz is on par with anything a Hollywood filmmaker can dream up.

The book of Ruth is famous for the most captivating redemption story. In this devotion we will be looking at how to navigate around different relationships, dealing with loss, healing, making decisions, and trusting God’s process and plan in the midst of changing times and seasons.

The story of Naomi and Ruth is about believing, trusting God and finding safety in His care. This story is thousands of years old, but still relevant today! This reading plan follows Ruth on her spiritual journey and shows you who God wants to be — for a Moabite woman and also for you.

If you’ve ever experienced loss, loneliness, or seasons of great change or difficulty, then you can immediately identify with the events and people in the book of Ruth. But ultimately, Ruth is a book about the providence of God. We should never underestimate the seemingly small events in our lives. Whether it is caring for family, getting married, working, showing kindness to our neighbors, or raising children… all of it is being used by God for the good of those who love Him, for His glory, and for the salvation of others.
