Go And Tell: Devotions From Time Of GraceSample
I Gotta Tell Somebody
When we’re pleased with a product or service, nobody has to nag us to share our experience. When we finally find a good auto mechanic, hairdresser, cabernet sauvignon, laundry detergent, or thrift store, we will happily tell everybody who will listen.
Do you get animated when talking about your faith? Are you excited about what you’ve found? “Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, ‘We have found the Messiah’” (John 1:40,41).
Pastors love talking about the gospel, but you know what’s even more powerful? When laypeople share the Word. Pastors get paid for what they do, and skeptics will assume that they are just performing for the money, building the business from which they derive their income. When regular people talk about Jesus, it can be much more powerful and believable because they are doing it for free. They don’t get commissions. Their words don’t need to be fancy or elegant, full of Greek and Hebrew words and theological terms. Simple talk from the heart is the best.
Do you believe in the power of word-of-mouth evangelism? God’s Word from your mouth?

About this Plan
